Northern Alliance formed at a New Year party in 2001, or it might have been early 2002. That’s more likely.
They recorded 2 full length albums, Hope in Little Things, and For the Grains of Sand. These were released on Fence Records in 2003 and 2006 respectively.
Inbetween times they also put out two Fence “Picket Fence” releases (collectible hand-crafted mini-albums). These were called Disaster for Scotland and The Hand of God and were released in 2004 and 2007.
Their swan-song was a mini-album to support Doug Johnstone’s book, The Ossians. On this they pretended to be younger and better looking than they actually were.
Each release was met with a flurry of critical acclaim and a generally indifferent public.
So they gave up.
